Settle Carlisle Railway Conservation Area (SCRCA)
Brief description:
Express Dairy Company Siding (Appleby), elevation view from the south south-west.
This fascinating view of the dairy site was probably taken in the early-mid 1930s. It was kindly supplied by Carlisle Library (© cumbriaimagebank, reference ct02508) and it is used courtesy of Denis Perriam. Note the main lines in the foreground, the milk churns on the loading dock, the delivery lorries parked at the loading bays, the 6-wheeled railway tank wagon, and Milepost 276¾.
