Also in the image is the former Garsdale water tough lamp standard at the northern end of the former water troughs.  These lamp holders were placed at either end of the area of the troughs and the lamps showed the drivers of trains the start and end of the water troughs during the night so that the fireman knew when to lower and raise the water scoop.
